Driving technology tips for children and beginners: Safe on the trail

The first tours on the mountain bike are unforgettable! So that your child or you are safe and with a lot of fun from the start, the right driving technology bases are crucial. They not only help to overcome obstacles, but also give the necessary self -confidence. Here are the most important tips to master the first trails.

1. The right position on the bike: active and ready

The basis of every good driving technique is the so -called asset position. In contrast to the relaxed seating position on the street, this attitude is preparing for the site.

* How it works: Stand with slightly bent knees and elbows. The upper body is inclined to the front, but not curved. Keep your gaze far forward, not directly on the front wheel. The heels are slightly lowered.

 * Why this is important: in this position you can cushion bumps better and keep your balance. You are always ready to react to bumps.

2. Learn to brake: Certainly come to a standstill

Correct braking is the most important ability on the trail. Many beginners brake too strongly or too abruptly, which can lead to falling.

* This is how it works: Always use both brakes at the same time. Practice how much pressure you have to exert with your fingers to brake in a controlled manner. The front brake has stabilized most of the brake power, the rear brake.

* Tip for beginners: Start practicing on a loose surface. This is how you learn how the bike behaves before you drive on more difficult trails.

3. Switch: The right gait for the increase and descent

The right gait makes mountain biking much easier.

 * How it works: switch on foresight. When an increase comes, switch to a lighter corridor early enough so as not to stop suddenly. Before a departure, you choose a more difficult gear so that you can speed up quickly if necessary.

 * Why this is important: switching helps you to use your strength optimally and prevents you from entering.

4. Drive curves: Find the "Flow"

Corning is one of the greatest joys on the trail.

 * How it works: look in the direction you want to drive in. Bend into the curve and press the outer pedal down. This helps increase the grip and keep the balance.

 * Tip: practice on widths and slowly increase. Over time, you will develop a feeling for the centrifugal force and the "Flow".

With these driving technology tips, nothing stands in the way of fun on the mountain bike. Starting slowly, practicing the basics and increasing step by step. Security always comes first!
