The racing scene for children: Enduro, downhill and dirt

Has your child caught fire and would like to compete with the same age? The mountain bike scene for the offspring is growing steadily and offers a variety of exciting competitions in which the fun and fair competition are in the foreground. From rapid descents to spectacular jumps - here are the most important formats and racing series you should know.

Enduro and downhill races for children: adrenaline and technology

These disciplines are about speed and driving technique on sophisticated, downhill routes. The races are designed in such a way that they meet the age and skills of the young drivers. The routes are usually less steep and technically than with the professionals.

Popular racing series for young people in Germany and Europe:

VPACE KIDS Cup: One of the best known downhill racing series especially for children. The smallest racing air can sniff here. The races take place in well -known bike parks, often as part of larger festivals such as the IXS Dirt Masters.

Propain rookies cup: This cup is aimed at young people and young adults and serves as a springboard for larger racing series. The routes are more demanding, but the series attaches great importance to promoting young talent.

Chili Enduro Series: With this series there are special rating classes for children and adolescents. What is special: families can often drive in the same starting block so that parents and children can experience the adventure together.

Bike Kingdom Kids Cup: A popular racing series in Switzerland, which is also attractive for young German drivers.

Important NOTE: In these races, security comes first. Helmets and protectors are mandatory and the routes are carefully adapted to the age groups.

Dirt-MTB contests and slopestyle events: spectacular tricks

If your child is more of the type for jumps and tricks, dirt-MTB contests are just the thing. This is not about the fastest time, but about creativity, style and mastering tricks.

What is Dirt Jump?: Drivers jump over large mounds (dirt jumps) and carry out tricks in the air. The landings are gently sloping to reduce the stress.

Slopestyle: Similar to Dirt Jump, but on a course with different obstacles such as jumps, drops, and wooden constructions.

Pump track race: Although this is not about jumps, pump track races are a fantastic way to improve the bike feeling and to compete in a friendly, competitive environment.

Event examples:

IXS Dirt Masters Festival in Winterberg: One of the largest mountain bike festivals in Europe, which also offers children and young talent competitions, including Dirt Jump Contests and downhill races.

Local pump track contests: Many cities and municipalities with pump tracks organize their own smaller contests. These are often the ideal start to gain competition experience.

Participation in such events is a great opportunity for children to improve their skills, find new friends and share their passion for mountain biking. In the foreground should always be the joy of sport, not the pressure to perform.
